Signs of Drug Addiction Quiz

Signs of Drug Addiction Quiz. Are you wondering if someone you love is addicted to drugs? Most people who are addicted to drugs are in complete denial over their addiction, refusing to recognize a problem until they hit rock bottom. Instead, friends and family members are the first to realize something is wrong.

No one wants to falsely accuse a friend or loved one of being addicted to drugs. We just don't want to believe something so awful about someone we care about. But addiction is destructive not only to the addict, but also to those who live with him. Awareness of the problem is the key to safety for you and your children.

If you are unsure whether someone you love is addicted to drugs, take the following signs of drug addiction quiz. If you answer yes to two or more questions, your loved one may very likely have a drug addiction problem and you need to take action.

Erratic Behavior?

Has a friend or loved one recently become moody or unpredictable. Is she calm and unfazed one moment and raging the next? A Jekyll and Hyde persona could be the sign of a drug addiction.

Items Disappearing?

Have you starting running out of your prescription meds more quickly than usual? Are items in your home inexplicitly disappearing or getting "broken" only you don't see the remains? Have you noticed that money is disappearing? A friend or loved one could be taking pills, as well as stealing and selling items to support a drug habit.

Sudden Interest in
Visiting Elderly or Sick?

Has your loved one taken a sudden, inexplicable interest in visiting the elderly, injured or sick? An acquaintance of mine had little interest in outside activities, but did suddenly develop an interest in visiting the elderly and those just out of surgery. We discovered later that she would steal a few pills each visit.

Drop in Grades, Work Performance
or Extra-Curricular Activities?

Someone who is abusing drugs will lose interest in activities he or she were once passionate about, including sports, hobbies or even a loved job.

Decline in Appearance

Drug addiction steals away all of your motivation, making you uninterested in anything except getting high. In the end, even bathing and combing your hair become unimportant.

While this signs of drug addiction quiz isn't cut and dried proof of a drug addiction, it can point to a problem with abusing drugs.

But even if all the signs are there, don't expect your loved one to 'fess up to a drug problem. Most people who are addicted are in living in denial. In the end, it will be up to you to exercise tough love to protect yourself and your children from further harm.
